In May 2022, Abby Jackson put her red ribbon on for the tenth time as she celebrated a decade of riding for The Feast. Abby helped us kick off the event weekend by delivering a touching speech to riders, staff, and volunteers, grounding us in our mission and work. "I like to think of Ride for the Feast as an annual improv reenactment of the Wizard of Oz," said Abby, referring to a journey to the finish line where we celebrate the great efforts of our biggest supporters. "We don’t have lollipop boys," she continues, "but you are bound to see a couple of drag queens out there rocking a water stop. I mean truly, the creativity behind this event rivals that of the writer’s room in Frank Baum’s head." |
