Introducing Ride for the Feast 2022 Presenting Sponsor

AIDS Healthcare Foundation

We're proud to recognize the AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF) as presenting sponsor for Ride for the Feast 2022.

Like Moveable Feast, AHF was founded in the 1980s by a small group of advocates dedicated to addressing the needs of the HIV/AIDS community. Then known as the AIDS Hospice Foundation, AHF committed to providing a safe, dignified, and compassionate place for people dying of AIDS to spend their final days. Fortunately, as treatment options expanded, AHF was able to shift their service from hospice to medical care. Now AHF is the largest HIV/AIDS organization in the world, dedicated to providing cutting-edge medicine and advocacy, regardless of ability to pay.

Moveable Feast shares AHF’s humanitarian values and their support of our mission reinforces the collective goal to increase access to the resources our clients need.

To learn more about Ride for the Feast presenting sponsor, AHF, visit their website ahf.org

We extend a special thanks to Mike McVicker, Regional Director of AIDS Healthcare Foundation, DMV, as well as the Health Center, Public Health, and Pharmacy teams (pictured above) for facilitating this sponsorship and believing in our mission.

Ask a Rider Series

Q: “Um, I haven’t started training yet. Help!!”

A: Your priorities for a long ride are comfort and anticipation. Before you worry about your endurance and strength, consider the fact that you'll be sitting on a bike and peddling for hours. Padded bike shorts are highly recommended, and don't underestimate the power of Chamois Butt'r, which we will fortunately have plenty of thanks to  Chamois Butt'r's generous donation of their product.

For training, as long as you can ride at least half the distance of your desired route, you are in good shape! Here are some tips to build up your cycling endurance.

If going on a practice ride is of interest to you, there are two great upcoming opportunities! Team Rebels with a Cause is hosting a 50 mile training ride. Wheels on the ground at the Talbot County Community Center, 9am sharp, on April 16th. Email Angie Kelley for more information.

Additionally, the C3 Tri-County Classic cycling event is taking place the weekend before Ride for the Feast and offers 66 and 37-mile course options. A portion of ticket sales to that event benefit Moveable Feast, so it's a great way to prepare and continue to support the organization you're riding for on 5/21. Register for the Tri-County Classic here.  Good luck out there, riders!

Heads up!
