RFTF Team Fundraisers Let your community support you! The $1,000 Ride for the Feast fundraising goal is well within reach if you organize a fundraiser that's open to the community. Pete Castro, long-time rider and Team Captain of Team With A Purpose, recently hosted "Taps With A Purpose" at local restaurant, bar, and community space, R. House in the Remington neighborhood of Baltimore City. To riders thinking of hosting an event, Pete advises, "Don't over think it. Plan an event that you and your team would enjoy in a location you know well and PROMOTE PROMOTE PROMOTE." Pete's right! Post reminders about the event every day and you'll see a difference in how many people come out to support and help you reach your goal. And, when you promote a fundraiser to help reach your goal, think about why you're raising funds to begin with. Pete share's his "why" here: "Moveable Feast's mission is so basic, yet so important: Increase access to nutritious meals to improve health. Everyone understands that immediately, down to the core. It's an essential part of life that might be overlooked by people who haven't experienced food insecurity and/or malnutrition, but I believe everyone can imagine what it's like to be in that position." |
