Pam & Blu are Here for You

Long-time RFTF Command & Control Coordinators are looking for volunteer Safety & Gear (SAG) drivers to join their team on May 13!

"Taking care of people is central to who we are as a couple."

"It was like the wild west," Pam McCann says about Ride for the Feast over fifteen years ago. When she and Blu Benzinger started volunteering in 2007, it was just three SAG cars and a paper map supporting 70 riders as best they could. When the rider numbers jumped from 70 to over 200, Blu created what we now know as "Command & Control."

C&C is a complex multi-vehicle tracking system monitored from start to finish on the day of the ride. Pam and Blu know where all SAG vehicles are, so they can dispatch whoever is closest to a rider that needs support.

During the ride, C&C will take hundreds of texts and phone calls for rider support. They take the demand for help in stride, explaining, "We come back every year because it really is so much fun. Moveable Feast has the BEST people."

For all the first-time riders joining us this year, they have a bit of advice: "Relax, we got you covered. Train, fundraise with your team, meet new people, and enjoy the experience."

Support our riders by volunteering as a SAG driver on 5/13/2023.

SAG Orientation will be held at Moveable Feast on Saturday, 4/22/2023, 11am - 12pm. Fill out this Google form to RSVP!
